In the process of trying again, I had a thought that it might be a good idea to gradually introduce the alternate symbols, and that it might be good to select which symbols get replaced by alternates at random. I did that today. I asked for a random number between 1 and 9, and got 1, which was exactly the random number I didn’t want, but I’m going to go with it anyway. So this puzzle has 1 Armenian character in it.
