The old Crossword Bebop is alive and well and living at http://crosswordbebop.blogspot.com, with the minor change that it will be referred to as the Crossword Bebop Archives. All posts written either at crosswordbebop.blogspot.com, or crosswordbebop.com, between October 1, 2005, and October 31, 2009 are there.

“I got here from a search engine. What do I do?”

I suggest going back to the search result page and bringing up the cached page. If you’re not happy with that, I suggest going to crosswordbebop.blogspot.com, and using the “Search This Blog” feature at the top of the page.

“Why is there a need for a new Crossword Bebop?”

Crossword Bebop has outgrown its original scope. This post is the new charter for Crossword Bebop.

“Whaddya mean ‘outgrown its original scope?’”

The original scope was only concerned with the New York Times crossword puzzle. Over time, I started getting interested in Canadian and UK crosswords. Over the coming days, I will be exploring, enjoying, and explaining crosswords and other puzzles from around the English-speaking world, or the Anglosphere. Crossword Bebop is becoming actively Anglospheric, as opposed to accidentally Anglospheric.

While the original scope was about bebop, I’ve explored all sorts of music, and I plan to continue doing that, with “Raiding the 20th Century,” “Rhythm Science” and “Sound Unbound” as source documents. I want to consider the jazz that might have been, the probable realities of jazz, the jazz that happened in the spiritual world.

It may have been noticed that there have been a lot of poetry posts recently at Crossword Bebop. In the past, when it looked like Crossword Bebop was becoming a poetry blog, I would curl up into a fetal position, afraid of turning from a regular person into a self-absorbed doofus. But on further review, I never really have been a regular person, so I’m just going with it, cooperating with the inevitable. Poetry has made partner at Crossword Bebop. Poetry around the Anglosphere is now officially part of the scope of Crossword Bebop.

“You’ve written about religion and politics at the old Crossword Bebop. Will you continue to do so?”

No. Posts on religion and politics will be posted at Ask For The Old Roads from now on.

I believe that most people who liked the old Crossword Bebop will like the new Crossword Bebop. I hope there will be a lot of people who never got around to enjoying the old Crossword Bebop that will enjoy the new Crossword Bebop. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough.
